I’m Anna Lundén,

a communication specialist who is always looking for opportunities to analyse, write or film about the current events of the world and this way to increase awareness on global phenomenas. My eagernesses to understand different contexts and my excellent social skills have permitted me to work in very different work environments. In my work I get motivated by the possibility to encourage people worldwide to appreciate the beauty of diversity and to understand the ever-growing need of global collaboration in all aspects of life.

In my last position I worked for a Finnish NGO Felm as a regional communication specialist for Latin America and I'm based in Medellín, Colombia. I worked closely with peace and reconciliation work and created together with our partners in Colombia, Venezuela and Bolivia their communication and advocacy strategies. I also got to create various audiovisual projects, such as the story of young Sofia of Medellín for YLE TV (The Finnish Public Service Media Company) and created together with native community Koguis a Virtual Reality game.

Through my academic studies I am able to research and analyse different societal structures and phenomenas by using versatile, both qualitative and quantitative methods. I have originally graduated as a sociologist (M.Sc.) from the University of Helsinki and later on continued my studies in University of Sussex studying Media Practice for Development and Social Change. In Sussex I deepened my knowledge on developmental issues and I learned to produce, film and edit everything from campaign videos to documentaries. Studying in an international university taught me to critically examine global media,  international relations and also my own role and responsibilities as a media producer. I graduated in autumn 2020 as a Master of Arts with Distinction.

My earlier work experience is rooted in communication and marketing, campaign creation and in coordination of different projects and events. I have worked as communication specialist also for Visio Educational Centre and Think Thank (Finnish Green Party) and for Save the Children of Finland. In this positions my responsibilities included media strategy, planning and marketing of events and publications, executing and carrying out educational projects and working as Editor in Chief of the Visio Think Thank's journal (issues can be read here in Finnish). While living in Peru, I worked as an intern for the Embassy of Finland and took care of economic policy reporting, media monitoring and diplomatic representing.

I have lived, worked and volunteered in many countries during the past 10 years, such as Argentina, Colombia, Kenya, The Netherlands and UK. Living in various countries throughout my early adulthood has given me a lot of perspective and eagerness to work and explore alongside different cultures and people. The more I get to know, the more I want to ask, understand and explain.
